Qualifications:
- Grade 12 (Critical)
- Computer Literacy (Essential)
- National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Millwright or similar
Job objectives:
- Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
- Locate sources of problems by observing electrical and mechanical devices in operation.
- Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
- Determines changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
- Maintain Electrical equipment. Including but not limited to automated controllers, robotic equipment, e-coating plant, press machines, and hinge assembly machines.
- Gain knowledge from current Robot technician in terms of Maintaining, Fault finding, repairing and programming robots, new and existing to such an extent that the work can be performed without any assistance.
- Maintaining and adjusting jigs to control the quality of the parts being produced.
- Maintain all aspects of the e-coating plant. This includes but not limited to pumps, filters, oven, conveyors, effluent plant and controllers.
- Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
- Trains production workers on routine preventive maintenance.
- Provides maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analysing and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Tool Setup and Calibration: Set up and install various tools and equipment.
- Tool Changeovers: Assist with tool changeovers when required.
- Tool Efficiency and Optimization: Continuously monitor tool performance and identify opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with engineering manager and production teams to optimize tooling processes, reduce cycle times, and enhance productivity.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of tooling setups, adjustments and maintenance activities.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working with tools and equipment. Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly. Comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Training and Collaboration: Assist in training new team members on tooling procedures, safety guidelines, and best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, operators, and maintenance personnel, to improve tooling processes and resolve issues.
- Ensure that machines are setup to reduce waste and downtime.
- Accurately record all data on the job card sheet timeously.
- Make Kaizen activity suggestions to make improvements.
- Practice and improve 5S in your work area in line with the 5S check sheet.
- Ensure PPE is worn according to work standards.
- Perform all safety checks according to the safety standards.
Other:
- Attend to callouts and overtime requests.
Delivery
- Raise problems and concerns to the Maintenance Manager timeously.
General
Analyse production performance to eliminate recurrence of continuous downtimes. Carry out any reasonable instructions.
